Gravitys Harlequin

From the Return of Peter Pan Series...

I am a painter of colours and stories. My creation are extremely varied: from the 2-dimensional figurative paintings, modern figurative, through surreal, fantastic, semi-abstract, abstract, 3- dimensional collages, installations and mural, till video-art. She always combines her works in cycles, such as Peter Pan Series, Metropolis Series, Eyes Series, Devon Series or Brain Series. Things that definitely have had a big impact on me as an artist are:  knowledge (I am a book addict), other artists, art history, the space and environment that surround me in both the literal and metaphorical sense. “In all her work, doesn’t matter how abstract, surreal or figurative, there is always (retains?)a balance between contents and form, intellect and emotion. All the time she is also telling stories, first of all from her own experiences and her own imagination, but also the experiences of those near and dear, friends, neighbours and sometimes even enemies.  Kasia is an attentive observer of the world and people, and she demands the same from her audience, especially in her installations and video-art. Due to such an artistic concept the artist showed that art for her is another way of communicating with the world and with people. Art for her is an additional sense, exceptional because it reacts to very different stimuli, and that makes her art so varied and rich, yet always honest. In all her work the viewers can expect a huge potential of vital energy, most of the time a positive one.” Karolina Jablonska - art historian, curator of modern art exhibition (From:  My Cosmos, Lodz-Art.eu; 2010) I was born in Poland in the very intriguing, multicultural but in some respects ugly city of Lódz. However I left it after becoming Master of Arts. I have lived in several countries with different political systems, diverse cultures, different languages, peoples, and landscapes and that fact has had a significant influence on my development and growth as a human being.  I studied art for 7 years; at schools and at private ateliers. At the age of 15 I sold my first painting; it was abstract, oil on canvas. Most of my paintings have been sold to private collectors and to order, approximately 141 works in total to 75 collectors, two art galleries and the Museum of Fine Art in USA. I think that our existence in a philosophical/cosmic sense is senseless. Compared to the history and the dimension of the universe we humans are nothing. Because of that we shouldn’t take ourselves so damn seriously. If we could do this our lives would be 100% more tolerable. Our lives are also often very difficult, too harsh to be taken seriously. This does not mean that we should not respect this world and the creatures that live in this world. I try to express this persona l philosophy in my paintings and my writing.
