A Tiny Patch of Blue Necklace
This piece is close to my heart. It goes under the name of A Tiny Patch of Blue and was inspired by something my mother once told me. I was home from school on the long summer holidays, the skies were leaden grey and I was miserable. My mother took me to the window and pointed out a couple of patches of blue sky, telling me that if there was enough blue in the sky to make a sailor a pair of trousers then I could be sure the sun would soon shine. What I didn't ask her was the size of the said sailor - if we were talking toy sailors, well making a pair of trousers was easy. A real life sailor would be more difficult.
At Moon Cottage, Di Sandland designs and makes jewellery reflecting the beauty of her surroundings. Favoured materials are silver, both sterling and fine, artisan glass beads, and semi-precious stones.
